Doan Tattoo Studio is a private tattoo studio in Sunshine, Melbourne. As a local tattoo shop in Sunshine, every custom tattoo is drawn for the person wearing it — from delicate fine line tattoo work and lettering to full Japanese backpieces and cover-ups. Vinh is the founder and lead artist at Doan Tattoo Studio. He works across Japanese, fine-line, lettering and cover-ups — but the through-line is the same: clean, considered work that heals well and lasts.

Every booking starts with a chat about your idea, a custom drawing, and a plan for placement and size. No rushing, no pressure — just a design you're genuinely happy to wear.

    We reply within 1–2 days. A deposit secures your date.
    Your information will be securely sent to and stored in Google Sheets for the purpose of processing your form submission.

    FAQ & aftercare

    Both. Bookings are best for larger or custom pieces so we can prepare a drawing, but walk-ins are welcome for smaller work when the studio has space. Call ahead to check availability.

    Price depends on size, detail, placement and time. Send your idea through the booking form and we'll give you an honest estimate — no surprises on the day.

    Yes — a deposit secures your appointment and time to draw your design. It comes off the final price. Please give at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule.

    You must be 18 or over and bring valid photo ID to your appointment. We can't tattoo minors, even with parental consent.

    Often, yes. Send a clear photo of the existing tattoo through the booking form and we'll talk through realistic cover-up or rework options.

    Aftercare, in short

    Leave the wrap on as advised, then wash gently with clean hands
    Apply a thin layer of aftercare balm — never over-moisturise
    No pools, spas or direct sun while it heals (about 2–3 weeks)
    Don't pick or scratch — let scabs fall away naturally
